    About Coventry Haven

poem wall

  • We began in the early seventies as a women’s group and have grown to become a small, community-based, grass roots, registered charity which is run for women by women
  • Our aim is to help women who have experienced or are experiencing, domestic violence to free themselves from the situation they are in.
  • We do this by providing safe housing and a range of support services
  • These services are run by staff and volunteers and are free of charge
  • All of our staff are female, and you will be able to speak to us without fear of being judged. We can help you and support you in making your own choices
  • We are committed to providing quality services to any woman experiencing any form of domestic violence and abuse including Forced Marriage,    Honour Based Violence (FM/HBV) and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
  • Our services are free and confidential
  • We are governed by a board of directors who are all volunteers, members of the local community and whose responsibility it is to provide governance and employ staff to deliver services
  • We raise funds from a variety of sources, including the local authority, trust funds and fundraising events. We also receive donations from the public and local businesses
  • We are a member of Women’s Aid, which provides safe accommodation to women fleeing domestic violence throughout the UK and which campaigns nationally against domestic violence
